MODERN ROMANCE - WHEN CLASSIC ELEGANCE BLENDS WITH UNDERSTATED CHIC

After a decade together, Tally & Jack planned to say "I do" with a magical three-day celebration in France. Their vision? A joyful gathering of their closest friends and family, starting with a relaxed al fresco welcome dinner, followed by a black-tie wedding filled with elegance and ending with a laid-back poolside party.

Right from the start, I was drawn to their aesthetic—contemporary sophistication with a touch of classic elegance. Their colour palette took inspiration from their stunning Dordogne venue: soft neutrals reflecting the Château’s stone and deep, rich greens, a tribute to what Tally lovingly called "the tunnel of green," the breath-taking setting for their ceremony.

My goal for their bespoke stationery was to weave all these elements together into a design that felt both timeless and effortlessly contemporary—an invitation to a weekend filled with beauty, meaning and love.

STYLISH MINIMALIST TACTILE STATIONERY

With black tie at the heart of the design but a desire to keep things modern and distinctive, Tally & Jack’s stationery suite blended classic wedding invitation elements with a fresh, editorial twist. Square-shaped cards, a striking layout and a bold monogram became the focal points, giving the suite a refined yet contemporary feel. Hot foiled in black on thick, luxurious cotton paper, the invitation exuded understated elegance, with the letterpress depth adding a beautifully tactile quality. The duplexed details card, in a soft neutral tone inspired by the Château’s stone, featured a delicate gold foiled illustration of the venue, while a deep green envelope liner introduced contrast and a subtle nod to their lush surroundings.

For the on-the-day stationery, we carried this palette through, perfectly complementing both the ceremony and reception spaces, as well as the floral arrangements of crisp whites and rich greens. Scalloped edges added a playful touch to the menus, while gold foil on deep racing green cardstock elevated the overall aesthetic. Thoughtful details—like an embossed monogram on the menus and itinerary, as well as a gold-foiled venue illustration on the table numbers—created a seamless thread between their invitations and the wedding day itself. For the seating chart, I suggested a tall fabric sign, which not only looked effortlessly elegant as it swayed in the gentle breeze but was also easy to transport to the South of France and now serves as a beautiful keepsake of their celebration.

Tally & Jack’s wedding was nothing short of magical, a joy-filled gathering of their nearest and dearest. Even the rain made an appearance but if superstition holds true, that only means a lifetime of love and happiness ahead. It was an absolute joy to be a small part of their journey, creating bespoke pieces that reflected their story, their style and this unforgettable moment in time.

We had such a strong vision for our wedding and we were so happy how it came to life.

We poured over every detail, including the stationery, as we wanted the whole experience to feel well thought out from start to finish.

When discussing our ideas with Hélène, we knew she got the vision and made our timeless black tie theme really come to life. The experience started with the invitations, as it really set the tone for the weekend, and it continued seamlessly on the day.

We now treasure our stationery and keep it in a keepsake box to look back on when we reflect on the best weekend of our lives.
